Why Become A Member?

The Yorkshire Wolds is an area of high landscape value providing rolling hills, deep valleys, majestic cliffs, isolation and tranquility. Members of the Trust can help to protect the area by participating in a wide range of activities to suit themselves. Examples are:

  • Being consulted about something of which they have specialist knowledge
  • Representing the Trust at meetings or on committees of other organisations
  • Collecting information, e.g. local history, photography, survey work
  • Visits to places of interest in and around The Wolds
  • Attending talks on subjects connected with The Wolds
  • Clearing overgrown footpaths
  • Manning an information centre
  • Preparing a specialist lecture
  • Helping in the production of booklets and papers about local topics
  • Helping in the production and erection of information boards

There is an opportunity for you to let the Trust know how you can help, but don't worry if you don't have specialist skills and knowledge, there are many ways in which another pair of hands can help.
