Beverley Minster Tour, AGM and the Minster’s Secret Garden and the Sanctuary and Herb Gardens.

Tour of the ground floor of Beverley Minster followed by buffet lunch in the Minster Rooms, AGM at 1.30pm and the opportunity to explore Minster’s Secret Garden and the Sanctuary and Herb Gardens afterwards. On the tour the guide will tell the story of St John of Beverley and how tradition tells how he influenced King Athelstan to give Beverley the ‘right of sanctuary’. We will see the medieval stained glass, the Saxon fridstool and the Norman font. Our guide will also explain why a relatively small town has a parish church that is larger than many cathedrals. We also have the rare opportunity to visit the Minster’s Secret Garden and the Sanctuary and Herb Gardens.
